Crews restore power to more than 75% of customers affected by Hurricane Beryl
Entergy Texas has safely restored power to more than 75% of customers affected by Hurricane Beryl. As of 6:30 p.m., the company had successfully restored power to approximately 199,100 of the 252,460 customers affected. Most customers with safe power are expected to have power restored by Monday, July 15th.
As our restoration crews continue to repair and rebuild portions of the company's Beryl-damaged electrical systems, many variables can affect the time required for restoration. For example, under normal circumstances, a standard residential utility pole can be replaced in two to three hours if it is located on the curb, or four to six hours if it is located in a passage, backyard or alley. After a severe weather event such as a hurricane, replacing standard residential poles may take longer due to downed trees, flooding, or other hazards in the area. Safety remains a core value for Entergy Texas employees, contractors and customers, which is why the company encourages the community to stay away from work zones, flooded areas and downed power lines.
The chart below shows estimated restoration times for areas still without power from Hurricane Beryl. Estimated recovery times are based on current damage assessments and weather forecasts.
