Northern New Mexico is experiencing showers and storms this afternoon and evening, some lasting into the night. We'll see these showers and storms fade away during the first half of Sunday as we head into the early morning hours. Storms are likely to hit these areas again Sunday afternoon, but an isolated storm is also possible now in the Sacramento Mountains. Temperatures are also set to get hotter this weekend. Highs will climb to around 100 degrees from Farmington to Albuquerque and southern New Mexico.
The chance of rain will increase by the middle of next week as a wave of monsoon moisture re-enters the state. Rain is possible across nearly all of New Mexico starting Wednesday. Heavy rainfall is also possible in some areas. This also means we will see an increased threat of flash flooding in the Burn Scar. Temperatures will also be slightly cooler.
