Good afternoon, Western Michigan! It's another warm and muggy day. Temperatures will rise into the 80s this afternoon, but the humidity will make it feel like the 90s. We should stay dry during the day with a mix of sunshine and clouds. A line or cluster of storms is expected to move in tonight. The storm will move from west to east between 10pm and 3am. Some storms could become severe, with damaging wind gusts being the biggest threat. An isolated tornado or two is also possible. Additionally, the storm will be able to produce heavy rainfall. This could lead to more flooding in low-lying areas with poor drainage, particularly near creeks, streams and water bodies still recovering from heavy rains. A flood warning will be in place for much of Western Michigan from 9 p.m. Monday to 4 a.m. Tuesday.
A few showers are possible tomorrow as a cold front moves through the area. Cool, dry air will filter in from the front, giving us great weather this weekend. Wednesday through Friday, high temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 70s and lower 80s with partly to mostly clear skies. The humidity will also drop significantly after the humid air you can wear for the next few days.
Chief Meteorologist Keith Thompson is keeping a close eye on the possibility of severe storms tonight. Be sure to watch News Channel 3's live coverage at 5 p.m.
