This morning's weather forecast:
Temperatures will be warm and muggy tonight. We will start the day with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
Tuesday's forecast:
Temperatures in Southeast Texas will drop into the low 90s, but due to the high humidity it will “feel” 105 degrees in some places. We are not under a heat warning, however, please still stay safe and drink plenty of fluids. Showers and storms may move toward the coast and stay south of Interstate 10. We only set 20% for showers and storms.
Track the rain:
A cold front will move through the Lone Star State later this week, increasing rain chances starting Thursday and continuing into Saturday.
Even though this is a cold front, given the small but significant temperature difference – we will be down to the 80s, not the 90s. To the low 90s.
The risk of flooding in the area is low through Friday. Plan for extra time on the road.
Track the tropics:
There is no tropical activity in the Gulf, Caribbean Sea or Atlantic Ocean. Saharan dust is severe across much of the tropical Atlantic, making things very quiet.
Another factor keeping the tropics quiet is the huge clouds of Saharan dust, which help suppress the development of tropical waves at this time.
10-day forecast:
Rain chances will increase later this week as the front moves northward. More rainfall means cooler than normal temperatures!
