DENVER, Colo. – Colorado residents can expect cooler temperatures today along with scattered thunderstorms and the potential for heavy rainfall. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Denver/Boulder issued a forecast highlighting the potential for severe storms, especially in the Plains.
Today's weather will be mainly cloudy, with temperatures ranging from 83 to 88 degrees in the plains and 65 to 75 degrees in the highlands, according to the National Weather Service. Several showers and thunderstorms are expected, with locally heavy rainfall possible east of the Continental Divide. There is also a risk of several severe storms across the plains.
Denver's hourly weather forecast shows a temperature of 62 degrees in the early morning, rising to 88 degrees by the afternoon. Cloud cover is expected to increase as the day progresses, with the highest chance of thunderstorms around 3 p.m.
Looking ahead, the weather will warm up slightly, with highs reaching 90 degrees on Thursday and 91 degrees on Friday. Temperatures will drop slightly over the weekend, with a high of 83 degrees on Saturday and 80 degrees on Sunday. Next week will be mostly sunny with temperatures in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
