    CT Weather: Severe storm could produce 60 mph wind gusts Wednesday

    CONNECTICUT – The National Weather Service said severe weather is possible in Connecticut Wednesday afternoon, with “the main hazard from the storm being wind gusts up to 60 mph.”

    Additionally, Wednesday marks the official end of the latest heat wave. Once again, it will feel like over 100 degrees.

    “Today is another First Alert weather day, not only will there be a dangerous combination of high temperatures and high humidity (bringing heat index values ​​close to/above 100), but there is the potential for strong to severe weather conditions later in the day,” a WFSB 3 TV meteorologist said.     According to the WFSB 3 TV weather map, the storm appears to be most widespread Wednesday after 5 p.m.

    Today: Showers and thunderstorms possible between 2pm and 5pm, showers and thunderstorms possible after 5pm. Some storms can be severe. Mostly sunny with a high near 89. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New rainfall amounts will range from one-tenth to one-quarter of an inch, with higher amounts possible during thunderstorms.

    Tonight: Showers with a chance of thundershowers, mainly before 2am, with a chance of showers and thundershowers after 2am. Some storms can be severe. Low pressure is about 72 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New rainfall amounts could range from half an inch to three-quarters of an inch.

    Thursday: 30% chance of showers, mainly before 8am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 86 degrees.

    Friday: Sunny, with a high near 85 degrees.

    Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 87 degrees.

    Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88 degrees.

    Today: Showers possible after 5pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 30%. New precipitation amounts may be less than a tenth of an inch.

    Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms possible before midnight, showers possible between midnight and 2am. Some storms may produce heavy rainfall. Mostly cloudy with low around 70 degrees. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New precipitation amounts could range from half an inch to three-quarters of an inch.

    Thursday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 86 degrees.

    Friday: Sunny, with a high near 86 degrees.

    Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89 degrees.

    Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89 degrees.
