An unsettled pattern returns with several rain chances for the remainder of the week.

    • Wednesday: Rain and storm periods (60%)Gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall are possible, particularly in the afternoon/evening. Height: 90°. The “feeling” is closer to the 1990s.
    • Tonight: (40%) Scattered showers/storms. The sky is cloudy. Low: 71°.
    • Thursday: Rain and storm periods (60%). There are rare downpours and gusty winds. Mostly cloudy. Height: 82°.

The chance of rain today is as high as 60%, with rain and storms expected, especially this afternoon and tonight. So far there have been a few showers and rumbles over the plateau.

We are not tracking an official severe weather risk today, but a few severe storms are possible, possibly with heavy downpours and gusty winds. Today our entire region is at Level 1 of the Level 4 flood risk. Take your time on the road.

Today's high temperature will be near 90 degrees, with temperatures “feeling” in the 90s to many. Scattered showers and a few storms remain tonight, with temperatures in the low 70s overnight.

The front will also stay near our area tomorrow, keeping the chance of rain at 60%. There won't be any rain all day today or Thursday, but heavy rainfall and gusty winds are possible in any storm. By Thursday, rainfall amounts of up to 2 inches are possible in areas where storm activity continues. About half the area also faces a level four flood risk on Thursday. Tomorrow will be cooler, with a high of 82 degrees.

This pattern remains volatile heading into the weekend. I have lowered the rain chance for Friday to 30% as the front looks to be closer to our south. Multiple air currents will sweep through the region through the weekend, causing scattered showers and storms around. Highs will rise into the mid to upper 80s this weekend.

The chance of rain will increase to 60% on Monday, with rain chances continuing into early next week. These rain chances will help our drought, but we need to monitor the threat of localized flooding.
