Low pressure over eastern Canada will drag a cold front through the region today, with quieter, cooler and wetter weather expected ahead.
However, rainfall is still expected today, particularly in the south and east of the region.
A few showers dotted the early morning Radar shows cloudiness associated with the front.
Only scattered showers are expected throughout the period morning, But in afternoonShowers and a few thunderstorms will increase ahead of the cold front.
The best chance of thunderstorms is south and east Line from Wellsville to Penn Yan to Syracuse. These showers and storms will continue until Later in the afternoon Then gradually push eastward.
There is a small chance of a storm with gusty winds, but there is little or no serious threat today.
There may be some additional showers to the north and west of the line, but showers should be more sporadic and end around mid-afternoon.
Winds today will gradually shift from southwesterly this morning to westerly through midday and early afternoon, and eventually shift to northwesterly later in the day as the front passes through. Winds were light at about 5 mph.
Temperatures today will mostly be around 80 degrees as clouds and hot air supplies have been cut off. It will remain muggy with temperatures in the upper 60s to around 70 degrees.
tonight, Any lingering showers will end and clear up gradually. Northwest winds will persist, causing nighttime temperatures to rise into the upper 50s and lower 60s.
Thursday A marked change from earlier in the week.
The sky will be a pleasant mix of sunshine and clouds, with lower humidity levels and dew points in the mid-50s. No rain or thunderstorms are expected.
Northwest winds will continue with gusts up to 10 mph.
Temperatures will drop into the 50s in most areas Thursday night under sunny skies.

Light northwest winds will continue but are likely to weaken and become almost calm later in the day.
No rain is expected and there will be sunshine and clouds in the sky. Temperatures will rise slightly, with highs typically in the upper 70s. Dew point will remain low and comfortable in the lower half of 50 degrees.
Saturday It will be breezy and changeable and temperatures will increase a few degrees. Temperatures should be in the mid-80s in most areas, with temperatures in the mid-80s in warmer urban centers. No rain is expected and the weather will be partly cloudy.
