ATLANTA — Another round of thunderstorms will move through the Atlanta metro area Thursday afternoon.
Heavy rain and frequent lightning are possible. A few storms may produce strong winds, but the threat of severe weather is generally low. The Storm Prediction Center does list Northeast Georgia as a Level 1 threat for severe wind gusts.

5:29 pm: Severe thunderstorm warning in effect for Paulding and Cobb counties from 5:28 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. ET
4:53 pm: Gordon County EMA said Union Grove Church Road is closed from Union Grove Road to Trimble Hollow Road to clear downed trees. It's unclear when the road will reopen. Authorities said there were no reports of structural damage.
4:30 pm: Ground stops at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport are until 6:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
