(WALA) – It still feels like the middle of July.
The chance of rain will increase over the next few days as the front moves south into our area and stalls. This would give our area a 60% chance of rain on Thursday, but higher chances of 70-80% on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Temperatures will drop as the chance of rain increases, with highs only in the upper 80s over the weekend.
There's good news for our beaches. The bay and surf will be fairly quiet over the next few days, with low rip current risks this weekend into the weekend. That said, never turn your back on the bay, and always check the local beach flags when you arrive at your destination.
Large amounts of Saharan dust keep the tropics quiet. We do not anticipate developing any systems this week.
