First Alert Nighttime Weather Forecast: July 17
RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — North Carolina weather forecasts call for a Category 1 severe storm risk from the Triangle to Virginia. Another heat warning has also been issued from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Damaging winds will be the main threat from sudden, isolated severe storms.
Afternoon highs will be 93 to 97 degrees, with feel temperatures 105 to 109 degrees.

The good news is that this will be the last day of the current heat wave. The bad news is it's going to be the start of a wet couple of days.
Up to 4 inches of rain could fall over much of North Carolina over the next seven days.

It all started with a small chance of rain Wednesday afternoon, including downpours. Thursday will start dry, but chances of rain and storms will increase again in the afternoon.

Friday is the day with the highest chance of rain this week.
