This morning's radar:
We are tracking a series of non-severe thunderstorms that will move in from the north over the next few hours, bringing with them the noise. In some areas, they can affect your morning drive. Check out our current radar below.
Storms will continue to roll through the area this morning, bringing heavy downpours, lightning and wind gusts of 35-45 mph. Lines will weaken throughout the morning and rainfall may drop to moderate to light rain by lunchtime.
The front is expected to stall across Southeast Texas, allowing for increased rain chances starting Thursday and continuing into the weekend. Rain chances should decrease Saturday and Sunday as the front washes away. I'm not canceling any plans for this weekend, but I know you need to check your radar every day.
Even though this is a cold front, given the small but significant temperature difference – we will be down to the 80s, not the 90s. To the low 90s.
There is no tropical activity in the Gulf, Caribbean Sea or Atlantic Ocean. Saharan dust is severe across much of the tropical Atlantic, making things very quiet.
Another factor keeping the tropics quiet is the huge clouds of Saharan dust, which help dampen the development of tropical waves at this time.
10-day forecast:
There is a chance of heavy rain Friday into Friday, but it won't be a heavy rain. Instead, you may see intermittent heavy rainfall. This rainfall may cause street flooding. More rainfall means cooler than normal temperatures!
