Iowa Weather: Another nice day before possible rain over the weekend

Yes, exactly. Recently, definitely not too far away. But today’s story is about a beautiful day. Just like yesterday. Maybe there will be more clouds, but they will definitely be sunny clouds. Rain is not expected until the end of the week. Clouds will begin to build up on Friday, especially in the late afternoon. It won't be today. It won't be a good opportunity to move eastward, although the bright sunshine will gradually increase as the day progresses, with moderate rainfall developing over areas of Fort Dodge and further south toward the Ottoman area by around 5:00 PM. This is a better chance for showers and some isolated storms, especially as we wake up at 8:00 on Saturday and start the weekend west along I 35. We won't see much cloud cover return until Friday night and especially Saturday night. Rain chances will resume as a fast-moving shortwave disturbance moves from the northwest Friday night into Saturday morning. Rain chances are greatest across western Iowa on Saturday morning, with chances tapering off toward the east. There's still a chance for rain in central Iowa through Saturday, but more light rain is expected. There is no serious weather threat this weekend. A few isolated thunderstorms with gusty winds are expected. There will still be an isolated chance of rain on Sunday, with the best chance of rain coming in the warm afternoon. The chance of continued rain will continue Monday into Wednesday, with a similar chance for the afternoon hours.
