The KHOU 11 weather team wants you to know that heavy rain is possible in the Houston area early this week.
HOUSTON — The KHOU 11 weather team will be issuing weather impact alert days for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday next week.
The wet weather pattern will intensify, bringing heavy rain and thunderstorms to the region.
The focus of the threat will be its impact on commuters, travelers and anyone who must work outdoors.
The stagnant border across southeastern Texas will be combined with the high-rise lowlands across the southern United States.
It will bring heavy rainfall and thunderstorms to the greater Houston area. It's too early to tell if we'll have serious flooding issues, but it's likely we'll see water pooling on the roads, creating hazardous road conditions.
During this period, rainfall totals may exceed 4 to 6 inches in some locations.
This could cause water levels to rise in creeks, streams and bays in the area as the ground becomes saturated.
