    IMD issues orange alert for Mumbai, light showers expected in Bengaluru: Check full weather forecast

    The IMD has predicted heavy rainfall in Karnataka and Gujarat over the next five days.

    Mumbai has been witnessing heavy rainfall since Thursday morning and the plight of Mumbaikars is not expected to ease soon as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted more heavy rainfall in the next 2-3 days.

    The IMD has issued an orange alert for Mumbai and heavy rainfall is expected on July 19 and 20.

    Maharashtra is experiencing heavy monsoon rains and the Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rainfall in Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada districts in the next two days.

    According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's monsoon update, Mumbai received 47.29 mm of rain in the 10 hours from 8 am to 6 pm on Thursday, with 30.56 mm in the east and 38.18 mm in the west.

    Heavy rain hits Karnataka

    The IMD has also predicted heavy rainfall in the interior and coastal areas of south Karnataka over the next five days. There is a possibility of light to moderate showers in Bengaluru this week.

    IMD issues heavy rain warning to Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh

    Heavy rains are expected in Telangana, Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam districts from July 19 to 21.

    Additionally, the IMD predicts heavy rainfall in Vidarbha and southern Chhattisgarh in the next 2 days. Heavy showers are also likely to occur in Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat from July 20 to 22.
