New York City – Hot and humid weather will hit New York City again this week, with showers and thunderstorms possible.

“It's getting hotter, but it feels hotter, and it's going to be like, a third heat wave is coming our way,” New York Fox 5 Mike Woods said.
If Tuesday's high temperatures remain above average, it would mark New York's third heat wave of the summer. But will the humidity create opportunities for future storms?
“Some storms are expected, or at least in future forecasts, to be moving through here very quickly,” Woods said.

High temperature advisories, warnings
Heat advisories and warnings are in effect across the tri-state area.
“Basically, any time you see a dew point temperature between 60 and 70, that means it's sticky, hot, and humid. It almost feels like you get out of the shower after a hot shower, right, you feel all is well. Foss weather Meteorologist Michael Esti said.

on Monday: There is a 30% chance of showers and thundershowers after 2 p.m., and it will be sunny most of the time, with a maximum temperature of nearly 88.
Tuesday: There is a 20% chance of showers and thundershowers after 2 p.m., and it will be sunny most of the time. The maximum temperature is close to 93.
Wednesday: Light showers before 11 a.m., light showers and thunderstorms between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Showers and thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m. Mostly sunny, with a high near 94 degrees.
Thursday: There's a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms with partly sunny skies before 2 p.m., with a high near 81 degrees.
Friday: Sunny, with a maximum temperature near 82.
