Rainfall could spread from Jacksonville to Tampa Bay to Orlando, affecting nearby areas along the way.

In South Florida, scattered thunderstorms could move into the area as early as Friday night, bringing lightning, gusty winds and heavy downpours, according to the National Weather Service.
This could affect Lake Okeechobee and Biscayne Bay, as well as Palm Beach, Collier, Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Other areas that may be affected include coastal waters from Jupiter Inlet to Ocean Cay and waters from Chokoloskee to Bonita Beach, excluding the Bahamas, Glades and Hendry.
Storms are likely to arrive across the state each day and into next weekend. In South Florida, heat indexes are forecast to likely increase and areas along the Atlantic coast may be at higher risk from rip currents as east to southeasterly winds are likely to strengthen.
Florida, like other states across the country, may experience thunderstorms this weekend. Georgia, Maryland and Virginia could all be hit by weekend storms, according to the National Weather Service.
AccuWeather forecasters say hail and flash flooding are possible in the Plains over the next few days. Forecasters said straight-line gusts were also possible during the storm.
