WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Friday will start with a few clouds as temperatures return to the mid-90s across much of the region. Cloud cover will increase in the afternoon and evening, with another chance of rain this weekend.
On Saturday morning, the area will likely see scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms starting in the early morning hours and continuing toward the southeast through the weekend. Showers and storms look like air masses in nature and are shorter-lived, meaning outdoor activities may be temporarily affected but won't be flooded with non-stop rain all day long.
Rain combined with increased cloud cover will help lower afternoon temperatures into the upper 90s to lower 80s, nearly 10 degrees below average for late July. Cooler temperatures and showers will continue into the start of the year or into next week, but dryness and warming will still begin by next Wednesday.
