Forecaster Derrah Getter's first warning forecast
Showers and storms will be expected mainly in northeastern North Carolina south of the state line. The showers will ease later tonight, but there may be some lingering isolated showers Saturday morning. Highs today will be in the mid 80s with a light breeze from the east, so the humidity will be significantly easier to manage.
Risk level 1 out of 5 for most areas on Saturday, with the possibility of isolated severe thunderstorms. Damaging winds will be the primary concern, but localized flooding is not out of the question. Highs will only reach around 80 degrees under mostly cloudy skies.
Rain chances remain high Sunday and into the next work week. The highs during this period will be below average. It's pretty much copy and paste every day, with highs around the mid 80s and a chance of scattered showers and storms.
