Several severe thunderstorms occurred in the Atlanta metropolitan area.
ATLANTA — Multiple severe thunderstorm warnings were issued for the Atlanta metropolitan area Monday afternoon.
Overall, there is an increased chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area. Some storms have the potential to produce heavy rain and lightning.

9:20 pm | Lawrenceville police said power has been restored after power lines were down in the area of Constitution Avenue and Planeview Drive. Police said some traffic lights were affected but were back in operation.

5:48 PM | The Lawrenceville Police Department said multiple traffic lights were out due to downed power lines in the area of Constitution Avenue and Planview Drive. In addition, traffic lights at several nearby intersections were also affected. Police say these intersections should be treated as four-way stop signs. The police department said officers and engineers were on their way.
4:55 pm | A severe thunderstorm warning is issued for DeKalb and Gwinnett counties from 4:54 to 5:45 p.m.
4:42 pm | A severe thunderstorm warning is issued for Heard County from 4:41 to 5:30 p.m.
