- Charlotte and the east side of the Channel 9 viewing area are under a severe thunderstorm watch Until 9pm Thursday.
- Thunderstorms are gathering in the northern foothills. They ran in Charlotte around 5 to 6:30 p.m., but moved on shortly after. The biggest threats are lightning and heavy rain, but occasionally wind gusts can exceed 40 mph.
- More clouds and occasional downpours are expected on Friday, which will ultimately keep us in the mid-80s for the first time all week.
- The weather is still very muggy over the weekend, with occasional thundershowers.
