Today's live weather updates: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rains in parts of Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa on Saturday and has issued a red alert.
The IMD has issued an orange alert for weekend rainfall over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Kutch and Saurashtra.
For Delhi, the weather agency has predicted light localized rainfall to continue for three days. The maximum temperature in the National Capital Region of Delhi is expected to be around 36 degrees Celsius on Saturday, with light rain expected in the national capital on July 21 and 22.
From June 1 to July 19, the rainfall across India was 324.4 mm, which was 98% of the normal level for the same period in the year. At least 15 states and union territories have received normal or above-normal rainfall so far.
