Weekend Storm Forecast
three two. I'm Koko Five Meteorologist Michael Armstrong, bringing you the updated First Alert video forecast. As we head into the weekend, temperatures will once again drop into the 60s this Friday night and will be below average in most areas. Temperatures in the southwestern part of the state were in the low 70s. Strong to severe thunderstorms are also possible across northwest Oklahoma. For areas in our Panhandle, such as the Gaymon and Beaver Rivers, two out of five is a minor risk level. Further down into northwest Oklahoma, Woodward and Alva face a marginal risk of one in five, which also includes Gage, Shattuck, Freedom and Buffalo, with winds potentially as high as 60 mph. A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of the state between 3:00 a.m. and 330 a.m. to see where scattered thunderstorms remain. But be aware of what they do. They will be on a weakening trend as they slide toward the southeast tomorrow morning. Some showers and storms will still develop from the north into central Oklahoma, and then more isolated storms may break out. For example, around Stillwater, head down toward Guthrie and then toward Cushing and Langston. Then this will pass and a larger storm group will develop tomorrow night. It was midnight in western and southwestern Oklahoma. Some of these storms could be severe enough that they would appear to be very close to Oklahoma City if they didn't pass through the metro. There will also be more thunderstorms tomorrow night as we move into Sunday morning as we move into early Sunday morning. So this will be our best chance for rain over the weekend from Saturday night into early Sunday. Tomorrow, temperatures will be in the 80s across much of the eastern half of the state, with Ardmore reaching the 90s. Especially around the 90s in western and southwestern Oklahoma. However, over the next five days, temperatures will rise into the 90s and close to 100 in a few areas.
