    Tornado watch canceled.

    As storm surge swept through LaSalle, Broad and Putnam counties, partial power outages were reported in areas with damaged tree limbs and power poles.

    Fewer than 50 ComEd customers were without power in LaSalle County; scattered outages were reported for customers in Ameren, Ill., including approximately 135 residents in Granville, approximately 130 residents in the Cedar Point area, approximately 107 residents in Ottawa/Marseille, and There are less than 12 residents of La Salle, Peru.

    A large tree was reported on a house in the 700 block of Guthrie Street in Ottawa. Power poles were also reported to be broken.

    LaSalle County has issued a severe thunderstorm warning until 9:45 p.m.

    A line of storms was detected extending from Peru to near Beijing, moving eastward at 60 mph.

    The storm could contain wind gusts of up to 70 mph. Damage to trees is expected, as can damage to mobile homes, roofs and outbuildings, according to the National Weather Service.

    Affected locations include Ottawa, Straight, Morris, Chanahon, Pontiac, Minooka, Peru, LaSalle, Braidwood, Coal City, Marseilles, Dwight, Fairbury, Chatsworth, Spring Valley, Oglesby, Diamond, Seneca, Gardner, Gridley, North Utica, Forrest, Flanagan, Winona and Odell.

    Southern Bureau and Putnam counties are expected to experience strong winds from the storm. The National Weather Service said to take cover.

    A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for northern LaSalle County, including Mendota, Earlville, Troy Grove and Sheridan, until 9:15 p.m. Gusty winds to 70 p.m.

    A tornado warning was issued for Bureau County, including Princeton, Spring Valley and Depp.

    As of 9 p.m., a severe thunderstorm warning was in effect for Bureau County, with damaging winds reaching 80 mph.

    Affected communities include Princeton, Spring Valley and DePew, among others in the region.

    Tornado warning for La Salle, Bureau, Putnam counties

    Tornado warnings were in effect until 1 a.m. Tuesday for nearly all of northern Illinois and parts of southern Wisconsin, northwest Indiana and southwestern Michigan.

    Regulated Illinois counties include McHenry, Kane, Will, DuPage, Cook, DeKalb, LaSalle, Kendall, Lake, Boone, Livingston , Ford County, Iroquois County, Kankakee County and Grundy County.

    This watch means conditions are suitable for tornadoes and some funnel clouds are expected. The line of storms could bring damaging winds up to 90 mph and possible widespread hail.
