PHOENIX — Thunderstorms are moving across much of Arizona on Sunday, from northern Arizona to the southern Arizona/New Mexico border.
Severe thunderstorms expected in Maricopa County by 8 p.m.

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for parts of Gila, Maricopa and Pinal counties until 2:45 p.m.
There is a severe thunderstorm near Superior, moving south at 5 mph. Winds up to 60 mph and hail the size of dimes are possible.
- U.S. Highway 60 between mile markers 223 and 245
- AZ Route 177 between mile markers 164 and 167
The storm is expected to move into the low desert from northern Arizona between 3 and 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Strong to strong winds are the primary concern when exiting the boundary into the low desert.
There is a 10% chance of winds exceeding 58 mph and a 70% to 80% chance of winds exceeding 35 mph.
Dense dust is also a possibility. Heavy rainfall is expected.
Roosevelt's severe thunderstorm warning in effect until 2:15 p.m.
In Roosevelt, a severe thunderstorm occurred 12 miles east of Tonto National Monument or 13 miles east of Roosevelt, moving south at 20 mph, according to the National Weather Service. Wind gusts up to 60 mph and coin-sized hail are possible. This includes AZ Route 188 between mile markers 232 and 244.
