A 14-year-old boy from Kerala who tested positive for Nipah virus died due to cardiac arrest, Kerala Health Minister Veena George said on Sunday. The boy from Pandikkad Malappuram area suffered a cardiac arrest at 10.50 am on Sunday and resuscitation efforts failed.
“He required ventilator support. His urine output was reduced this morning. After a severe cardiac arrest, resuscitation efforts failed and he died at 11:30 am. PTI As mentioned. Cremation will take place in accordance with international protocols.
“Further matters regarding the funeral can be decided only after discussions between the district collector and the boy's parents and family,” George added.
Currently, the three are in isolation at the Kozhikode Medical College.
