Phoenix(AZFamily) — It won't be that hot on Sunday, with a high in the valley of about 111 degrees.
Thunderstorms will develop this afternoon in parts of mountainous areas such as the White Mountains and Mogollon Rim, as well as parts of Yavapai, Gila and Coconino counties.
These storms will move southwest and could reach parts of the Valley and Phoenix metro area between 4 and 8 p.m.
During this time, wind gusts of 40-60 mph are possible, along with blowing dust and heavy downpours. Strong wind gusts, flash flooding and hail up to 1 inch are possible in the mountains.
Scattered storms are also possible Sunday night.
Monday's valley high will be a slightly cooler 109 degrees. Thunderstorms are possible in the valleys later in the day, but most of them should stay over the highlands.
Later in the week, highs will be between 110 and 112, with the chance of showers and storms increasing to 20 to 30 per cent in the Valley from mid-week to the weekend.
