Appearing before a three-judge Supreme Court bench headed by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud, Hegde said: “This case can be summed up in a poem – You don't talk about debt here, tell me why the team fights, I'm not fooled by secrets, it's a matter of your leadership.”.

He also pointed out to the bench that the NTA had maintained its stance that “there was no leak” until the Supreme Court intervened in the issue.
“The NTA kept denying the leak and later said, OK, we can retest 1,563 students. It was not until June 22 that the personnel were changed and the CBI took over the investigation… and there was an organized gang, There is a history of leaking these types of documents before,” Hegde said.
“You can't believe the competitive exam with 61 top players,” he further argued.
