    Columbus weather forecast includes lots of rain, possible thunderstorms

    Columbus is in for a wet and even stormy week, according to the forecast from the National Weather Service in Wilmington.

    The rain had begun to fall Monday morning as Columbus residents began their work week. The looming threat of rain continues into Thursday, so maybe keep your umbrellas handy.

    Unlike several days last week where temperatures dropped dramatically during the summer heat wave, temperatures this week will remain in the mid-80s.

    Here are the full predictions.

    Columbus weather for the week of July 22, 2024

    • on Monday: There will be mainly showers and thundershowers before noon. The maximum temperature is close to 81. Rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, but higher amounts are possible if there are storms.

    • Monday night: Sunny to cloudy, with a minimum temperature of about 67 degrees.

    • Tuesday: After 2 pm, there may be showers and thundershowers, clouds will gather throughout the day, the maximum temperature will be around 87 degrees, and the chance of precipitation will be 40%. Rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, but higher amounts are possible if there are storms.

    • tuesday night: Before 10 p.m., there will be showers, thundershowers, cloudy, the lowest temperature is about 68 degrees, and the chance of precipitation is 30%. Rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, but higher amounts are possible if there are storms.

    • Wednesday: After 4 p.m., there will be showers and thundershowers, and the rest of the time will be sunny to sunny. The maximum temperature is about 86 degrees, and the probability of precipitation is 30%. Rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, but higher amounts are possible if there are storms.

    • Wednesday night: Showers and thunderstorms possible between 10pm and 2am. Rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are expected, but higher amounts are possible if there are storms.

    • Thursday: There will be showers and thundershowers before 8 a.m., and showers from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., sometimes sunny, with a maximum temperature of about 84 degrees and a 30% chance of precipitation.

    • Thursday night: Sunny to cloudy, with a minimum temperature of about 63 degrees.

    • Friday: Sunny, with a high near 84 degrees.

    • Friday night: Basically clear, the lowest point is about 63.

    • Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 87 degrees.

    • saturday night: Basically clear, the lowest point is about 66.

    • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 89 degrees.
