Today's storms will continue to bring heavy rainfall and another threat of flash flooding into Monday night. Conditions will become drier for the remainder of the week, but the potential for localized storms remains.
Scattered storms are again bringing the threat of heavy rain and flash flooding to parts of New Mexico Monday afternoon. Most of the storms have ended tonight, but a patch of showers is heading south across southern New Mexico and will disappear overnight. Storms are expected to decrease Tuesday afternoon as dry air moves into the state and temperatures begin to warm up again. That being said, the storm will roll over the mountains again in the early afternoon and move south throughout the afternoon and evening. The storm could bring heavy rain again and the threat of flash flooding before it ends Tuesday night.
Dry air will continue to move into New Mexico through Thursday as rainfall opportunities focus on higher elevations and western New Mexico. Monsoon moisture moves into the state again on Friday, which will give New Mexico a slightly higher chance of showers and thunderstorms over the weekend.
