Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024-25 in the Lok Sabha on July 20, 2024.
At the conclusion of these programs, each state will submit a report to the office of the party's national chairman
After Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget 2024 on Tuesday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has laid out a plan to ensure that the impact of the budget, especially on the common man, reaches every individual and family.
“This budget is committed to safeguarding the welfare of the poor, poor, farming community, castes and scheduled tribes and other disadvantaged groups, being employment-oriented, encouraging MSMEs and achieving inclusive growth to achieve Vikshit Bharat”, the BJP said in an official communication to its leaders.
The BJP has set a one-week deadline for its party leaders and asked all its officials, union ministers, chief ministers and other national and state leaders to hold effective press conferences to spread the word about the positive impact of this budget message.
Furthermore, leaders are advised to hold meetings with intellectuals, economists and other eminent persons to discuss what the budget means for Brand India through discussions and dialogues.
Make budget announcements on social media
In addition to this, the party has also asked all leaders to make budget announcements on social media using infographics and technology.
Responsibility for organizing the presentation of budgets for various programs will be assigned to a state office bearer who will coordinate with leaders at the state and national levels.
Once these programs are completed, each state will submit a report to the office of the party's national chairman.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the first full budget of the Modi 3.0 government on Tuesday. Sitharaman also created history by becoming the country's first finance minister to present seven budgets during her tenure. Previously, Morarji Desai held the record of six budget presentations.
She made several announcements in her budget address focused on job creation and infrastructure. Important highlights include announcements from Andhra Pradesh and Bihar.
Andhra Pradesh has received commitment from the central government to complete the Polavaram project. Besides, the Center has allocated Rs 15,000 crore for the development of state capital Amaravati.
The finance minister announced a Rs 25,000-crore package to aid infrastructure development in the state, a major move that reflects the Modi government's commitment to Bihar as the state prepares for elections next year.
Both the alliance partners at the Center and state levels – Telugu Democratic Party (TDP) and Janata Dal (JDU) – have demanded special assistance to their respective states.
Contrary to public statements, neither Chandrababu Naidu nor Nitish Kumar expressed any concern for Narendra Modi during the government formation process after the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Ministerial positions leading the central government make any specific demands. Instead, they requested the Center to support development in their respective states.
Recently, Naidu visited the national capital and held meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and various Union ministers to urge an announcement for Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget. Similarly, JDU working president and Nitish Kumar's envoy Sanjay Jha also met Prime Minister Modi and Sitharaman to demand assurances for Bihar.
