Heavy rain hits many parts of the United States
More rain will return to parts of the south and southeast on Tuesday, including areas that have been flooded in recent weeks. Parts of Texas that have been flooded by Hurricane Beryl will continue to experience heavy rain from the nasty front, and the rain won't leave. Parts of southeastern Texas and central Louisiana could see several inches of precipitation.
Similar forecasts are expected for parts of the Northeast. This round of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms is caused by the strengthening of the Bermuda High that is stationary on the east coast of the Atlantic Ocean.
this southwest Several inches of rain are expected as monsoon moisture continues to bring soggy conditions to places like Arizona and New Mexico. While rainfall is generally good for such a dry area, wildfire burn scar areas also get quite a bit of rainfall. Last month, 19 flash flood emergency warnings were issued near Ruidoso, New Mexico, resulting in multiple water rescues and evacuations.
Fast-moving California wildfires destroy homes
Two fires broke out in Riverside County, California, on Sunday. The fire spread quickly and sent residents fleeing, destroying three homes and threatening more than 1,000 others.

A Texas woman and her husband are still recovering in the hospital after being bitten by a shark during the Fourth of July holiday. Tabatha Sullivant lost part of her lower leg in a shark attack near South Padre Island, Texas.
