TULSA, Okla. — Reduced visibility is expected in some areas overnight into Tuesday morning, which could impact the morning commute in eastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Tulsa has issued a warning to drivers asking them to prepare for rapid changes in visibility.
Visibility may drop to less than a mile at times, particularly in southeastern Oklahoma and far eastern Oklahoma, according to the National Weather Service. Fog is expected to develop later tonight and continue into Tuesday morning. Additionally, showers and thunderstorms are possible tonight, primarily affecting southeastern Oklahoma.
Forecasts also indicate a chance for precipitation will return in southeastern Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas during the day Tuesday. There is still a chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms tonight, with a 15-30% chance, and a higher chance of 20-40% Tuesday afternoon.
Looking ahead, the weather looks to be sunny and warm for the rest of the week in Tulsa. Sunny weather is expected Wednesday through Sunday, with temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s. Daily high temperatures are expected to reach 89°F today, 93°F on Wednesday, 94°F on Thursday, 92°F on Friday, 89°F on Saturday and 93°F on Sunday. Overnight temperatures will hover in the low 60s to low 70s.
