Rainfall led to waterlogging in parts of Madhya Pradesh on Thursday, while the India Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms and lightning on Friday as well.

Some videos circulating on social media showed flooded drains. In the Katney district, railway crews patrolled flooded tracks to guide locomotive drivers.
“Satna and Ratlam districts received 88 mm and 80 mm of rainfall respectively from 8.30 am to 5.30 pm on Thursday. According to IMD Bhopal centre, Bhopal received 25.6 mm of radiation from 8.30 am to 8.30 pm.
“Heavy to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely to occur at isolated places in MP on Friday,” the IMD said.
