GEORGIA – Heavy rainfall and localized flooding are forecast across much of the Southeast, including Georgia, over the next few days.
While some areas of the Southeast may be sheltered from the incoming storm, AccuWeather reports that rain is likely to extend from northern Florida into southern and western Georgia and continue westward.

According to AccuWeather, southeastern Texas to western and central Louisiana may bear the brunt of the storm.
However, the National Weather Service is predicting daily showers and thunderstorms across Georgia.
Starting Friday afternoon, a scattered swath of storms could move across the Peach State and cause localized flash flooding in north, central and eastern Georgia. Frequent lightning and wind gusts are possible, but severe storms are rare, the National Weather Service said.
The National Weather Service said that while no severe weather is expected in the area, infrequent daily storms could become severe and produce localized flash flooding, frequent lightning and gusty winds.
According to AccuWeather, dry air will lose steam over Georgia and the southern Appalachians, forcing humidity levels to drop slightly.
“As a result, the risk for at least scattered showers and thunderstorms will continue through the weekend,” AccuWeather reported.
The NWS says there is a moderate risk of rip currents in Chatham County and southeastern Georgia until 8 p.m. Friday.
