– The warm start of August
discuss:
This weekend will be viewed as a mixed bag of good stuff across Eastern Kentucky. We'll remain partly cloudy as we head into the evening. Whether heading to the North Fork Music Festival in downtown Hazard or attending any other outdoor event, it’s definitely a great night to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
Saturday will be mostly sunny with temperatures staying in the mid-to-upper 80s. There's a chance of light showers as we move into Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Notice how temperatures start to climb back above normal levels. They will fall back as we move into the first part of next week.
Sunday looks to be our next chance for shower and thunderstorm activity. Like the past few days, you either see it or you don't. If you do, expect lots of rain.
Looking to the future:
As we enter the final days of July, we are seeing an increased chance of thunderstorms across the region starting on Monday and continuing throughout the work week. Something you'll notice as the week gets underway is that temperatures will start to warm up on Thursday with highs near 90 degrees. In short, not only does the heat return, but so does the humidity.
