LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) – The weekend is approaching and Mother Nature is being kind. We have a solid summer Saturday ahead of us before Sunday's storm.
The chance of some isolated storms along the Kentucky-Tennessee border remains low Friday night, but it's still dry for most of us.
Humidity will continue to drop tonight, with dew points dropping into the mid-50s. The sky will be clear at night and temperatures will drop into at least the 60s. We may briefly see some people in their 50s on Saturday.
As the sun rises Saturday afternoon, temperatures will climb back into the 90s for most people. Humidity will be controlled to a large extent. Later in the day it will start to get muggy again.
Sweltering temperatures soared Sunday ahead of scattered afternoon storms. High temperatures were in the 80s and it felt like over 90 degrees.
There will be scattered rainfall and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, with a few strong wind gusts, heavy rain and small hail possible. There is no grim outlook at the moment, but low-end risks could emerge over the weekend.
Next week is very busy. Daily rains and storms bring us much needed rainfall. The long-range rainfall forecast shows several inches of rain this week, which will help us get back on track after the drought.
