Commuters waded through waterlogged roads after rain in New Delhi on July 26.
According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature on Friday was 33.3 degrees Celsius, 1.6 notches lower than normal for this period and a decrease from Thursday's 36.2 degrees Celsius.
Temperatures in Delhi dropped several notches as rains lashed parts of Delhi on Friday, causing flooding in some areas and hampering traffic.
Delhi's main weather station at Safdarjung recorded 34.8 mm of rainfall between 5.30 and 8.30 am.
Heavy rainfall was recorded at Delhi University with a rainfall of 93 mm.
An official from the India Meteorological Department said: “Heavy rainfall occurred in the Delhi University area on Friday with a rainfall of 93 mm.”
Pitampura weather station recorded 10.5 mm and 10 mm in 3 hours.

Early morning rains caused flooding and traffic congestion in many parts of the capital.
The New Delhi Municipal Council, which oversees municipal work in central Delhi, received 25 complaints of flooding, an official said. Complaints of waterlogging were received at Madhu Limaye Marg, Diplomatic Enclave, Africa Avenue, Gole Market and Connaught Place, the official said.
An official said the Public Works Department received 82 complaints of waterlogging, of which 75 were resolved. The department also received 15 calls about downed trees.
Earlier in the day, Delhi Traffic Police issued an alert informing commuters that roads were affected by flooding and sewer overflows and advising them to take alternative routes.
In a post on
Traffic on both sides of Rohtak Road was also affected due to overflowing sewers and potholes in Mundka.
Minto Road in central Delhi is notorious for flooding and was submerged early in the morning. The section of road was later drained and traffic returned to normal.
Later in the day, a portion of Hanuman Road in central Delhi collapsed.
According to the weather department, the humidity was 78% at 5:30 pm.
The meteorological department predicts generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain on Saturday.
The IMD has issued a 'yellow' alert for the city till Sunday, with rainfall expected till July 28.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 34 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius respectively.
