Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's remarks came after Netanyahu gave a speech to the U.S. Congress on Wednesday in which he defended Israel's ongoing war in Gaza.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday lashed out at Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling his government “genocidal” in Gaza and accusing him and his government of “barbaric acts” .
The congressional secretary-general's remarks came after Netanyahu gave a speech to the U.S. Congress on Wednesday in which he defended Israel's ongoing war in Gaza.
Netanyahu received a warm welcome from House Speaker Mike Johnson and other Republican lawmakers who scheduled his speech on the House floor.
Netanyahu received a bipartisan standing ovation.

“It is the moral responsibility of every right-thinking individual, including all Israeli citizens who do not believe in hatred and violence, and of every government in the world to condemn the Israeli government's genocidal practices and force them to stop.” Posted on X.
Priyanka Gandhi said their behavior was unacceptable in a world that claims to be civilized and moral.
“Instead, we saw the image of the Israeli prime minister receiving a standing ovation in the U.S. Congress,” she said.
“He (Netanyahu) calls it ‘the clash between barbarism and civilization.’ He is absolutely right, except that he and his government are barbaric, and their barbarism has been criticized by most of the Western world. Such generous support. It’s such a shame to see,” Priyanka Gandhi said.
The Congress leader has been vocal in his opposition to Israel's actions in Gaza and expressed solidarity with the Palestinians.
