There's a lot going on across the tri-state this weekend, and nature is showing off. Today is a perfect summer day with lots of sunshine and hot temperatures. The weather is a little more comfortable today, with dew points in the mid-50s. That's all about to change.
Tonight will remain dry and sunny, but a bit warmer. This is all due to the increase in humidity as the wind shifts from the northeast to the southeast. Nighttime temperatures will only drop into the 60s. It's also a precursor to how Sunday will unfold.
Sunday will start out dry and we may even see some sunshine. However, there will be more cloud and rain chances in the afternoon. Before we see rain, we'll feel the heat, but it'll be more of the humidity. Temperatures will return to the mid-80s and may reach the 90s in some communities. Unfortunately, the humidity will also rise, making temperatures feel like the low 90s either way.
As mentioned, scattered showers are possible during the afternoon and evening, and maybe even a few storms. Currently, it seems that the best time for rain is between 3 pm and 9 pm. Nothing serious is expected, but a downpour or two is not ruled out.
This is the start of a hot pattern and there will be some storms as well. Once we get into the work week, we're expecting another round of high temperatures, with highs reaching around 90 degrees by midweek.
