Eight members of a family, including five children, were killed on Saturday when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a ravine in Jammu and Kashmir's Anantnag district, officials said.
They said a police officer, two women and five children aged between 6 and 16 were among the dead.
Officials said the victims were traveling from Kishtwar to Malwa via the Hinson hilltop when their vehicle skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Daxum.
They said eight members of the family died on the spot.
