Pilgrimage to Lord Shiva at the Amarnath cave shrine in south Kashmir crossed 4.5 lakh on Saturday as more than 7,500 yatris received darshan of a naturally formed ice linga, officials said here.
“As many as 7,541 pilgrims performed the yatra on Saturday and performed the darshan of Baba Bholenath on the 29th day of the annual pilgrimage,” officials said.
They said that the number of pilgrims to this cave shrine at an altitude of 3,881 meters has reached 4,51,881.
According to officials, two people died during this year's pilgrimage, one from Sevadar in Haryana and one from Jharkhand. In June, both the deceased suffered cardiac arrest along the Baltal route.
The 52-day pilgrimage will end on August 19.
