And it's fast. But was Lenny impressed? I'm impressed. It will be mostly cloudy this morning and by mid-afternoon we are starting to enjoy the warmth of more sunshine. So maybe instead of going to the pool early in the morning, go later today. Nice weather for the pool. There are clouds outside this morning. They are thick and low. There may even be some scattered fog in the mountains and foothills this morning. It was a gray and gloomy morning. It's still warm outside. Low 70 seconds, then 60 seconds. As you head west. FOG. it's not a big deal. But again, in the mountains, some of the visibility possible in the Piedmont Triad is pretty good. So don't worry about fog being a widespread problem, but for the mountains those clouds will start to dissipate. The fog will also dissipate. Later this afternoon we will warm up into the mid 70s. I can't completely rule out the possibility of isolated showers occurring in the high country today, but they would be very small and very isolated. Most of us stay dry. The chance of rain today in the mountains and foothills is only 20%, and could even be lower. But I put it there just to be safe. Foothills today in the mid-1980s. It’s a warm afternoon in the Piedmont Triad, with bright sunshine and some clouds. I expect most of us to be dry today and the clouds will clear over the next few hours with highs in the mid 80s. Today will be very good. The humidity is a little lower and the wind is breezy, making it a great day to be outside, but if you look up outside, you might notice a bit of mist in the sky, caused by wildfire smoke. There were fires in the west. parts of California and along the West Coast. Some of the smoke has reached the East Coast and we have northerly winds today that may bring some of the smoke into our area. The smoke should be light, not very heavy as expected, but you may notice some fog and smoke in the sky this weekend. Smoky tones as there's a bit of wildfire smoke in the sky. Air quality in the mountains and foothills should no longer be an issue this weekend. Showers or storms cannot be ruled out. The Triad should be mainly dry today. It's going to be the 80s and then the late 80s tomorrow. So it's going to be a little warmer on Sunday. But the humidity is slightly lower. Still very comfortable. This is the isolated rain chance I'm talking about. In reality, the area only saw a couple of light showers, but the weather will be unsettled again on Monday. You'll see wider coverage of scattered showers and storms across the region. It's actually possible to cross these at any given time on Monday, so take advantage of the good weather and enjoy it. I just wanted to update you as quickly as possible on what's going on in the tropics. Early next week we are watching a new area moving towards the Lesser and Greater Antilles. The chances of it being developed are low, but just wanted to let you know it's something we're looking at. However, there is no need to worry for now. The weather is nice over the weekend. Enjoy it while we get the chance
