Storms with funnel clouds, flooding and violent lightning… when the rain stops
There. This was MLK's motivation for victory again. So we're looking at flooding there, probably the third time in the last six or seven days. Considerable flooding occurred in the Savannah area. Yes. go ahead. They canceled the tornado warning. OK So let's confirm that and we'll get you back to regular programming here in a second. But we're going to wrap that up a little bit because the Savannah metro area is also experiencing some flooding. We would support the sentiment here. The tornado warning disappeared. If it reappears, we'll be sure to let you know. We were the first to alert the WJCL 22 weather team on the south side. Well, there's at least a little bit of a recurring threat there. This is what I want you to do. Go out and play, hopefully at home. Uh, keep this thunderstorm off the south side of Savannah. There must be some flooded streets there. There. We saw MLK win. The vehicle broke down in the floods. In this area of Blaine County, you're seeing a lot of rain right now. There was a lot of lightning. There's no reason to go out and drive now. We'll spend another 60 to 90 minutes discussing this. Hopefully this thunderstorm weakens and moves away from our coastline. Tonight I will have a complete review of WJCL 22 News. I will be focusing on social media again. We're going to talk about this threat further and we're going to talk about some of the flooding issues as well. I believe we might even have to imagine in some floods, there are some videos for you. Well, it would be great if we could go find her. Otherwise we can wrap things up here. This is our storm tracking radar network again. This is really amazing. Approximately 800 or more lightning strikes occurred in Chatham, Blaine and a small portion of coastal Jasper County in the past 15 minutes. So, at least for now, the tornado threat has diminished. However, as long as thunderstorms continue to impact parts of Chatham and Blaine counties, our concern is the continued threat of flooding. So, Haley, do we have to get ready? OK OK Let's take a look at the flood scene, because we saw this before the victory. and MLK, where we had at least one vehicle break down and others in the area reported this as well. So hopefully this car won't experience this. Well, that's what we don't want to happen because unless you're a structural engineer with the city and know the whole layout, you don't know how deep the water is. You don't know where the road dips. We just discovered a small sinkhole in Broughton Street the other day. If you drive past a place like this, there will be a big hole in the ground. Then your car will collapse, or your car will flood. Install. So never recommend what those people are doing. I hope we won't see a scene like this in a few days, when we've already had quite extensive flooding. I figured at least one person would turn around and not go by there, but hey, I guess they had some important places to go. But again, I never recommend issuing tornado warnings. Don't drive through flooded streets, we will continue to see some heavy downpours in coastal Georgia. And a little bit of the Low Countries.
