Heavy showers and storms that emerged earlier today have pushed back from the east this evening. The chance of rain remains high as the weekend starts, but we'll at least see some sunshine before getting back to work next week.
Temperatures will hover around the 70s by Saturday morning with mostly cloudy skies. Showers are possible, but the chance of rain does not increase until closer to sunrise. Another wave of moisture will bring light to moderate rain and thunder to Acadiana from west to east by Saturday morning. After the midday break, scattered thunderstorms will begin moving across the area. Fortunately, they are likely to act quickly, which will limit flooding problems. Conditions will improve Saturday night, but more storms will return starting around noon Sunday. Any rain that does occur will move out of the area by late Sunday afternoon, so we should see some sunshine by the end of the day. Temperatures will reach the upper 80s on Saturday before rising into the upper 80s on Sunday.
Tonight: Quarantine sprinkles. Mostly cloudy. Low: 73.
Saturday: Scattered thundershowers in the afternoon. High: 89.
Saturday Night: Sunny to mostly cloudy. Isolated shower. Low: 77.
Sunday: Mostly cloudy with a few storms around midday. High: 91.
When we get back to work, the weather will become less active. We'll still keep our rain chances, but they'll be much lower. Isolated pop-up storms will develop Monday afternoon, but most people will only have to deal with increasing clouds Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will also become more seasonal, with highs in the mid-90s and lows in the mid-70s.
