So everyone can relax a little before the cleanup really begins. Jason sounds like the weather will be nice for at least the next few days. it should be. Yes. I mean, we're talking about clear skies and maybe a little breezy at times, but it's going to be quiet and that's the most important thing. Give people time to actually get out there and do it. So it looks like we're going to stay that way for a while. Look outside now, all the rain has moved. There's still a bit of cloud cover there, but any showers at this point are moving eastward and the scary storm system has moved into Lake Michigan. But also to cut back on a lot of rainfall because we're seeing some flooding issues in some areas. Heavy rain developed near Mason City before the storm moved east and brought some rain early this morning. And then we're seeing more heavy rain and storms this afternoon. As we started the day you could see a few showers outside, very light. By the afternoon it was looking much quieter. The winds even started to die down into Thursday morning and you could see that for most of Thursday, or at least most of the morning it was pretty quiet as well. Going into Friday, we may see some showers. But until then, it looks really good now and from the outside. Things were much calmer again. There is still a small amount of cloud cover over the metro, but the rain has stopped. The wind weakened and the temperature dropped. But look at the warm conditions. Still in the East. Davenport is still 77, while the rest of us are in our 50s and 60s. Temperatures will start in the upper to lower 50s and we'll deal with some cloud cover early on followed by a chance for scattered showers before returning to the mid 70s with sunny skies. So if you need to clean up, tomorrow is a very good day. As you can see, the wet weather has put us completely behind on tomorrow's day. As we get into Friday, we're finally going to start building it here. So the dew point spikes again into the mid 60s. This will set the stage for more chances of showers and weakening thunderstorms. Ames doesn't think there's a serious threat here, but we will see more rain. Friday morning until early afternoon. Tonight, spend another 52 hours in peace. Tomorrow the skies will be clearing, except for scattered showers in the morning, and temperatures will be near the mid-70s. Across the state, it was a very comfortable day. Temperatures were in the high 40s to low 50s and the air was cooler than we had experienced before. and statewide. It will be cloudy again, with a chance of scattered showers, and temperatures will start as low as around 70 degrees and is expected to last eight days.
