EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — Hello El Paso!
Have you watched the 2024 Paris Olympics? If not, you still have some things to do.
Lady Gaga really set the tone for this year's Olympics at the opening ceremony. I can’t wait to see what else is out there!
Before I get carried away, let’s get back to our weather topic.
The National Weather Service has issued an air quality warning for El Paso. The warning is expected to expire at 3pm on Sunday.
The galactic skies we've seen over the past few days are from cars and other conditions that produce high concentrations of ozone pollutants.
You can help prevent ozone pollution by carpooling, walking or biking with friends.
We expect those milky skies to disappear with strong winds or rain, which we expect to develop Saturday night.
Now, let’s talk about humidity. We are expecting a 40% chance of thundershowers on Saturday. We expect temperatures to drop to 77 degrees overnight. Thundershowers are expected to subside after midnight.
Monday is expected to be sunny with a high of 101 degrees. Rain on Saturday may keep moisture around, but it won't be too harsh. Temperatures dropped to 75 degrees on Monday.
It's getting hotter!
The high temperature is expected to rise to 103 degrees on Tuesday.
In hot weather, it's important to stay hydrated, wear sunscreen, wear lightweight clothing, and take frequent breaks during prolonged outdoor activities.
Fortunately, another wet pattern will move into the Border region from Wednesday.
We could see a 30% chance of scattered storms starting Wednesday afternoon. The high temperature is expected to reach 101 degrees. The overnight low dropped to 78 degrees.
We are expecting isolated storms on Thursday with a high of 101 degrees.
These storms will be kept to a minimum. Storms are likely to begin in the afternoon and could continue into Thursday night. The overnight low will be 77 degrees with a slight breeze.
On Friday, we are expecting a 10% chance of storms. We're still on a triple-digit growth streak as we expect to top out at 101.
Saturday is expected to be cloudy with a high of 97 degrees. Weather conditions will change at night, with a 10% chance of storms. Our low night temperature was 77 degrees.
Sunday's high temperature is the same as Saturday's, 97 degrees. There will be isolated storms throughout the day. Now, these can start in the morning, but the chances are still slim.
As the final item in the nine-day weather forecast, Monday is expected to be sunny and warm.
Enjoy the Games, El Paso!
