Intersection of Sunrise Dr. and Pontatoc Rd. Power lines in the area remain shut down after last night's storm damaged power lines in the area.
When is the area expected to open? We are contacting the authorities for information.
Update – 10:30 p.m.
The storm blocked roads and flooded streets in and around downtown Tucson. The Tucson Fire Department said they received multiple calls about cars stuck in the water.
The outage caused traffic jams on Sunrise Dr. and forced the closure of several stores in Catalina Foothills.

Lightning, gusty winds and heavy rain continue around Tucson. Flood warnings are in effect for most metropolitan areas.
Many roads around the city are flooded tonight. Now is a good time to stay indoors and if you are driving tonight, please remember not to drive through flooded areas.

Update – 7:40 p.m.
According to the TEP outage map, power has been restored to more than 6,200 customers in the Catalina Foothills.
Sunrise Dr and Pontatoc Rd, an officer at the scene said. Turn off “all night”.

As of Thursday evening, 6,702 customers were without power, according to the TEP outage map.
The Pima County Sheriff's Department confirmed that deputies were responding to the scene of multiple downed power lines in the area of Sunrise Dr and Pontatoc Rd.
Traffic in the area is severely restricted. PCSD recommends avoiding the area and finding alternative travel routes.
