It will be even warmer and wetter today, with highs reaching the 80s and dew points reaching the low 70s across the region. The temperature in Rochester reached 85 degrees Fahrenheit, 5 degrees Fahrenheit above the average high for this time of year. Still nowhere near the record high of 100 degrees set in 1931, but still warm.
Sunday will be slightly cooler, with highs likely to reach the mid-80s. As a low pressure system passes to our southeast, there will likely be more cloud cover, which may hold back the high temperatures a bit.
On the other hand, dew point can still make things outside feel sticky. We will continue to have southerly winds tonight into Sunday. This will continue to transport warm, moist air northward throughout the viewing area. Therefore, the dew point will be between 60°F and 70°F.
Due to the thick dew point, the heat index value will be slightly higher than the actual temperature, but will be slightly lower than the warning range. Regardless, resting and drinking fluids is especially important for those who are more susceptible to heat-related illness if outdoors and in the sun.
The chance of rain during the day is very low. The low pressure moving to the southeast should be far enough away that it won't bring any rain to the area. Unstable weather from the west should also extend into late Sunday night.
That being said, a dry Sunday is coming, but it will be warm and very wet. Overall, pretty typical for this time of year!
