MISSOULA — Thousands of people remain without power after Wednesday night's storm knocked out power lines in the Missoula Valley.
While Northwest Energy crews are working to restore lines as quickly and safely as possible, some customers may remain without power for several days. When we asked, Northwest Energy was coy about where those customers were located.
The storm knocked out power to 40,000 people Wednesday night, and as of Thursday evening, about half had been restored. MTN spoke to Northwestern Energy on Friday and learned there are 110 crews working on repairing lines and felling trees, with dozens of other support crews helping to coordinate the repairs.
Northwest Energy spokesperson Jody Black said ground crews and helicopters were assessing the damage early Thursday morning.
The top priority is to restore power to as many people as possible at once. But again, some customers may have to deal with outages for a few more days.
Northwest Energy is updating its Facebook and web pages with the latest information. The latest outage information can be found here.
